weatherbox has no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising. We do not collect your name, your email address or any other personal identifier, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.
what the app collects
Location — only if you allow it. If you grant location permission, the app uses your device's approximate coordinates to find the nearest place and show its weather. The coordinates are sent to our weather servers to retrieve that data. They are not stored on our servers, not linked to you, and not used for anything else.
Granting location is optional. You can use weatherbox entirely by searching for places by name, and you can revoke the permission at any time in your device settings.
Nothing else. The app does not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, files, device identifiers or advertising ID. There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party tracking of any kind.
what stays on your device
Your saved places, your display preferences and the weather data the app has downloaded are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere and we cannot see them. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
how weather data reaches you
Weather data is served from Cloudflare, which we use as our content delivery network. Like any internet service, Cloudflare receives the standard technical information that accompanies every web request — including your IP address — in order to deliver the response and protect the service from abuse. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else. Cloudflare's own privacy practices are described at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
what we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not build profiles of you or track you across apps or websites.
- We do not require an account, and we do not have one to delete.
children
weatherbox is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app collects no personal information from anyone.
your choices
- Location: grant or revoke it at any time in your device settings. The app works without it.
- Your data: everything the app stores is on your device. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes all of it permanently.

changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Any change that affects what the app collects will be reflected here before it takes effect.
